An additional point for exemplary performance is also possible in this criterion. If a high award such as BREEAM &#8220;Excellent&#8221; (\u2265 70 %) or &#8220;Outstanding&#8221; (\u2265 85 %) is aimed for, it is therefore helpful to plan for the fulfillment of this criterion.    <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The RSL 03 criterion belongs to the BREEAM assessment category of resilience. Enables the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures that protect the building, building occupants and related assets. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Our services for you<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We support you in meeting the BREEAM criteria RSL 01, including the preparation of a flood risk analysis that also takes into account possible climate change-related changes. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>RSL 01 Flood risk (EU taxonomy criterion) (4+1 points)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Risk assessment of:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a) flowing waters (rivers),  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">b) tidal waters (the sea),  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">c) Surface water: large-scale runoff from adjacent areas (urban or rural) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">areas (urban or rural), <\/span> <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d) Groundwater: often in low-lying areas with permeable <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">permeable soil or rock, <\/span> <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e) Sewers: combined sewers, wastewater sewers or surface water drains,  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">f) water retention facilities, canals or other artificial sources,  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">g) nearby floodplains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flood risk assessments must be carried out by a relevant organization\/authority, a competent institution or a competent individual. Proof of competence\/qualification must be provided. The flood risk assessment must:    <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a) indicate which sources of flooding it covers,  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">b) have been written or reviewed in the last 5 years,  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">c) Include flood mitigation measures if the flood risk is medium or high,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d) have the appropriate level of detail. This depends on the size of the site and the layout of the buildings at this site. For a small site (&lt;2,000 m\u00b2) with a relatively simple arrangement of buildings, a short report is generally sufficient. For larger sites (&gt;10,000 m\u00b2) with a higher building density, a more detailed assessment is required.     <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  Flood risk assessment that takes into account possible climate change-induced changes for all flood types is rated as exemplary performance with an additional point. It should be based on a climate model calculation assuming the &#8220;medium emissions&#8221; or &#8220;high emissions&#8221; scenario. It should cover a period relevant to the building.  <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>BREEAM rewards the resilient design of buildings<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hoinka.com\/gebaeudezertifizierung\/breeam\/\">BREEAM<\/a> DE\/AT\/CH Existing Buildings is a performance-based assessment procedure for the certification of existing commercial buildings.
