The resources inventory shall enable asset owners to recognise, maintain and benefit from the value of resources in the asset and increase the reuse and recycling of resources and reduce the use of virgin materials. This increases the recycling rate of resources, extends the lifespan of materials and products, and reduces the consumption of new materials. The understanding of the building as a material bank enables the implementation of circular economy principles.
