BAFA funding for individual measures
We support you in the planning and implementation of subsidized individual measures to increase the energy efficiency of your property as part of the federal subsidy for efficient buildings (BEG).

The Federal Subsidy for Efficient Buildings (BEG) is a statutory federal subsidy measure. The legal basis is the Building Energy Act (GEG). The aim of the funding is to provide investment incentives for energy-efficient refurbishment measures in order to contribute to climate protection.
If you renovate a building with individual energy efficiency measures, you will receive a grant of between 15-50% as part of the “Federal subsidy for efficient buildings – individual measures (BEG EM)”. Individual measures are refurbishment measures that improve energy efficiency but do not achieve an Efficiency House standard overall.
What is supported by BEG EM?
All measures on buildings that improve energy efficiency are eligible for funding. The specialist planning and construction supervision of the measures by energy efficiency experts can also be subsidized. For certain measures, it is even mandatory to consult an energy efficiency expert (EEE). (Individual measures on the building envelope, systems engineering, specialist planning and construction supervision)
- Individual measures on the building envelope: 15 % subsidy (EEE required)
- System technology (except heating): 15 % subsidy (EEE required)
- Heat generation systems: up to 40 % subsidy
- Heating optimization: 15 % subsidy
- Specialist planning and construction supervision: up to 50 % subsidy (EEE required)
Eligible costs
The maximum amount of eligible costs is based on the net floor area of the building: you receive 1,000 euros per m² of net floor area, up to a maximum of 15 million euros.
In order to receive the grant for measures on the building envelope, system technology and heat generation systems, at least 2,000 euros must be invested.
The minimum investment costs for heating optimization measures are 300 euros.
For energy-efficient refurbishment measures, eligible expenditure is capped at 60,000 euros per residential unit, meaning a maximum grant of 12,000 euros is possible.

Technical requirements
The minimum technical requirements of the “Bundesförderung effiziente Gebäude Einzelmaßnahmen” (BEG EM) as well as the provisions of the GEG, the GEG standards and other relevant regulations are available as information sheets on the BAFA website. We will be happy to support you in the planning and implementation of renovation measures to increase the energy efficiency of your property.
